A giclee print is a limited edition fine art print produced with continuous tone ink jet technology. Producing a giclee print is a slow, meticulous process which requires the skills of a master printer to create museum quality prints. The technology calls for special equipment and techniques to achieve the best color accuracy, sharpness, continuous color tone and artistic interpretation.

Giclee prints offer photographers a new way to market their images--giclee prints are the wave of the future. Printed on ph neutral (acid free) paper with the most permanent archival inks available, giclee prints have been projected to be stable for up to two centuries.

Giclee prints are widely accepted at museums and galleries. Dozens of museums world-wide have either mounted exhibitions of giclee prints or have purchased them for their permanent collections. These include the Metropolitan Museum (New York), the Guggenheim (New York), the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston), the Philadelphia Museum, the National Gallery for Women in the Arts (Washington, DC), and the California Museum of Photography. The Smithsonian Institution is now reproducing many of its vintage photographs as giclee prints in a new agreement with the Graphic Trust.

Many distinguished photographers and artists are producing giclee prints, including Richard Avedon, David LaChapell, Andrew Wyeth, Jamie Wyeth, David Hockney-- and Gigi and Brian Valley in Hawaii and now Vermont.

As with all fine art prints, store your print framed under glass or in the original ph neutral shrink-wrap, or envelope package. Always use archival quality framing materials--tape, matt and backing board as have been used in the original presentation. Display all fine art out of the line of direct sunlight and enjoy your prints for many, many years.
